Venessa's fantasy Photoshoot

Any worries I might have had were eliminated by the level of support and engagement. I was excited, buzzing and a little nervous.
I’m not lacking in confidence in most areas of my life, but my body and my looks are a real weak spot. The experience reminded me that the concept that everyone is beautiful in different ways applies to me too😊.

During my photoshoot I was happy as!! Relaxed, totally enjoying myself. Totally at ease and just having a lot of fun with the whole process.
For one of the themes of my photoshoot, I imagined this amazing warrior shot with a bow and arrow. I guess I kind of have this inner Amazon that would love to get out. I also love how more and more ‘grown-ups’ are getting a kick out of character dressing - Steampunk, Variety Bash, LARP etc. I think it’s so fun. I also wanted the mythical goddess type look.

I waited a little time after my photoshoot and then got to see my photos in a cinema style room. The first photo that came up really shocked me. I really did choke back a tear. The photos looked amazing! I was so thrilled! And then looking at all the amazing photos it’s really incredible to see yourself looking so different, so exactly how you had hoped!
I now have two giant pictures of myself up in my home. I’ve had suggestions that this is ‘unusual’ but my brother nailed it when he said ‘when you look at them you remind yourself how strong and beautiful you are’ - it’s got to be better than the mirror at 5am😂
My two art pieces on my wall are one of my in the warrior outfit, with bow and arrow, looking strong and capable. I have this in my study and I feel so good when I look at it. The other is with the large black wings, crown, long hair and that sword. It’s like it’s not me, but me from another universe. I love them.
I’ve had my beautiful box set of 25 photos out on display so I could show family and friends the photos / everyone was so excited for me and absolutely loved them.
It meant alot to me to choose a photography studio that made me feel special and allowed me to be vulnerable. The whole Zest team are amazing, supportive, friendly, fun, energetic. I have nothing but good things to say about them.
The absolute support all the way through. From emailed advice, to phone check ins, to tips and tricks for finding props and preparing physically and emotionally. Actually the preparation and buildup for me was almost as wonderful as the photo shoot.
If you are thinking about doing a photoshoot… Just do it! It’s so worth it. If you get involved with the preparation you’ll get more out of it. Don’t be shy - this is the chance to really let go and just be you as you imagine yourself.
