Top 10 Glamour Photo's of 2021

What an special year of inspiring stories and beautiful, elegant portraits to go along with them.

We asked one of our star photographer, Jessica, to go through and pick out her most favourite glamour photos of 2021 and this is what she chose…

1. THE DARK ANGEL.

I love incorporating fantasy into my glamour shoots, I find it allows women to transform themselves, play out their fantasies and unleash the hidden power within!

Wings and crowns can give you an unbelievable sense of power and confidence.

2. RED PRIESTESS.

I draped this gauzy fabric over our nude lady, with the pose referencing religious artworks from history, she is transformed into a priestess or perhaps a sacrificial bride. her direct eye contact holds the viewer gaze, there is an air of dark mystery to her.

3.  Veiled

Something about this image evokes renaissance paintings, but with a darker sexy vibe.  The demure pose, downcast eyes and flowing veil contrasting with the deep shadows and blood red tones and hint of the nudity beneath, creating an evocative and mysterious image.

4. Red silk Pregnancy

As soon as Kate walked into the studio, I knew we were about to create magic. She is the most amazingly beautiful pregnant woman I have ever seen!

Using our signature dark grey background, careful use of shadowy lighting and flowing red silk fabric to evoke a classic gothic pregnancy portrait.

Playing with fabric (especially red silk) while shoot nude photography is a great way to create striking and creative images.   The flow of the fabric can create appealing shapes and the fabric allows you to reveal just a hint of the nudity underneath which can sometimes be more alluring.

5. VULNERABILITY.

Our clients tell us everyday “ I just want to see the real me”.

We spend so much time pretending to be something that we are not. Putting on a fake smile when you are hurting inside, faking the appearance of a perfect stepford family when there is turmoil at home.  Having your portrait taken can be intimidating because people are often afraid that we will see through the fakeness into their true vulnerable selves, when there is nothing to hide behind what will we see?

6. TULIPS.

Flowers are a beautiful prop to incorporate for glamour photoshoots, not only because of the femininity associated with them but because they can add symbolism and sentimentality. These  pink Tulips acting as a reference for Olivia’s birthplace in Belgium, she is holding her history close to her heart.

7. THE GOLDEN BUTTERFLY.

A beautiful Golden butterfly goddess, this image was inspired by the butterfly crown made by Australian designer Verdessafairy.

I added the silken robe and golden paint to her hands for the extra magical midas touch.

8. APHRODITE.

Using silky fabrics is a beautiful way to create an elegant and sensual nude portrait, allowing you to reveal as much or as little as you like.

 9. TRANSFORM WITH WINGS.

Wings are one of my favourite pieces to incorporate into glamour sessions. A long skirt and a pair of wings will transform any woman into a Queen, add in a crown and you can rule the world.  I choose to use our lighter cream background for this portrait, allowing the shape of the wings to stand out.

10. MORE THAN ORDINARY.

The concept of transformation, fantasy and otherness was important for Stacey

Wanting to avoid the “classic pretty” images Stacey wanted to create portraits that played into her darker fantasies becoming the twisted fairy and ancient goddesses from mythology. Using golden head pieces, creative makeup, white feather cloaks, fairy wings and silk fabrics.

I combined these two images together, suggesting at a duality of self.  Swans in Celtic folklore often feature in stories of transformation
