Jessica's Top 10 Photo's of March 2021
Once a month our creative team gathers together to look through that month’s photoshoots.
It is an inspiring evening where we give each other feedback, hear the amazing stories of our clients and create new Ideas for the next month.
Each of our photographers will share their favourites from that month, here are Jessica’s…
My favourite photos from March 2021…
1. Hailey.
Hailey came in for a mixed Glamour and couple shoot. During the glamour shots, her partner Gordon was the cheerleader, making us all laugh and giving her a lot of lovely compliments. There was so much fun, laughter and dancing during the session it was a blast!
I love how different her expression is in these images, from sultry to joyful in just two seconds.
2. Forest Queen.
Annette wanted to showcase her connection to nature so brought along cuttings from eucalyptus tree, a handmade flower crown and also her clothing had floral patterns on it.
In this image I love how the branches sweep down to form an extension of her dress. To me she is the Queen of the forest, the strength of her pose and gaze adding regality to the image.
3. The Triple goddess.
An archetype in pagan spiritualty, the triple goddess is a depiction of womanhood that often inspires me for photoshoot. I added the pagan style ‘Green man’ mask and multiple Exposure to create this magical image.
4 & 5. Faeries, Mermaid and Princesses… oh my!
It was a magical day in the studio when Emma visited us for her Fantasy Glamour photoshoot, I love that she sprinkled herself completely in glitter to give her images an extra sparkle. Wanted to be a mermaid I created a tail by wrapping her up in silk fabric. Fantasy can give you an outlet to express parts of your inner self in a safe way with no real-world consequences, it can provide safe escapism from your demons or create an alter-ego.
6. Red Silk.
Playing with fabric (especially red silk) while shoot nude photography is a great way to create striking and creative images. The flow of the fabric can create appealing shapes and the fabric allows you to reveal just a hint of the nudity underneath which can sometimes be more alluring.
7. Wild at heart!
A country girl through and through.
A glamour shoot is not just for ball gowns and pretty princesses… it can be relaxed, wild and full of your own unique personality. Paula brought along her flannel, leather boots and sun hat to show her connection to living in a small country town. I love the rock and roll attitude in the second image!!
8. Crystal Energy.
As a natural energy empath Paige collects her crystals to perform cleansing rituals and focus her thoughts on positive growth, it was important for her to showcase them in her photoshoot. With such a pretty face I could not help but go in for an extreme close up, placing the crystals on various chakra points on her body.
9. can mum and dad have a photo together?
During a family photoshoot I always make sure to give the parents a few minutes to celebrate their relationship as a couple. The bedrock of any family, so often the parents are the ones missing from photos, I think it is important to capture the love that started it all.
The reason I love this photo is it depicts the reality of many families, with their daughter interrupting the cuddle by climbing up like a cheeky monkey.
10. A mothers love.
What do you see when you look at your mother? How does it change over time?
Do you see the teacher, helper, disciplinarian or a friend? Do you see the woman who washes your socks, cuddles you at night and loves you beyond belief?
I might have sneaked in a couple of extra favourite photos this month :)
See you next month
